FORT DODGE, Iowa (AP) - The Fort Dodge murder trial of a 41-year-old Northwood man has been rescheduled to July.

The trial of Tyrone Washington Jr. was to begin this week, but a judge dismissed a 112-member jury pool because it lacked racial diversity. All but one of the potential jurors is white. The trial was moved to Webster County on a change of venue because of a lack of blacks in Worth County. Washington is black.

Washington is accused of stabbing to death his ex-girlfriend, 30-year-old Justina Smith, in August 2013. His new trial starting date is July 7.
