PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A 45-year-old Pawtucket man is accused of sending underwear, unwanted letters and emails to a 20-year-old Providence woman he does not know.
The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1PnvAE8 ) police have charged 45-year-old George Gould with cyberstalking, a misdemeanor that carries a possible sentence of a year in prison.
According to an arrest affidavit, the woman had no previous relationship with Gould, but obtained a restraining order last June after being harassed online. They say Gould continued to contact her, sending her more than a dozen emails, written notes and at least two pairs of underwear.
Gould pleaded not guilty Wednesday and was being held at the Adult Correction Institution in lieu of a $2,000 bond. It was not immediately clear if he has hired an attorney.
