KINGSLEY, Iowa (AP) - Firefighters are blaming sparks that landed in hay for a blaze that destroyed a building in the northwest Iowa city of Kingsley.

The Le Mars Daily Sentinel reports (https://bit.ly/1L79i3B ) the Wednesday afternoon fire started when a hay grinder caused sparks to fly into hay that was being stored in a building.

Building owner Rob Plendl says the fire spread quickly and within five or 10 minutes, the structure was engulfed in flames.

By the time fire crews arrived, Plendl says the structure was largely gone.

Besides the building, about 100 tons of hay were burned.

No one was injured, and no equipment was destroyed.

Kingsley is about 20 miles southeast of Le Mars.
