PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a client at Resources for Human Development Rhode Island, a state-licensed program for people with developmental disabilities.
The Providence Journal (https://bit.ly/1Pnp8wV ) reports the death occurred last Thursday. Officials have not provided details about the man or the circumstances of his death.
Kevin Roberts, communications manager for RHD, says federal regulations prevent the organization from commenting on the death.
Department spokeswoman Linda Reilly says an investigation is being conducted through the Rhode Island Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals, because it licenses RHD Rhode Island.
Reilly characterized the man’s death as a medical emergency.
RHD Rhode Island is a nonprofit, art-based day program operated in Pawtucket since 2004.
