CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has ordered all U.S. and state flags on state-owned facilities to be lowered from dawn to dusk.

The order lasts Friday in commemoration of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Peace Officers Memorial Day is held annually on May 15 in honor of federal, state and local law enforcement officers who have fallen or been disabled in the line of duty.

It is held in conjunction with Police Week, which is observed May 10 through May 16.
