FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (AP) - A well-known covered bridge that spans the Cass River in Frankenmuth has reopened after an overhaul.
The Saginaw News reports (https://bit.ly/1JO5D9I ) Friday that repairs have been completed on the 239-foot-long, 230-ton wooden bridge. Work on the span in the Bavarian-themed community took two months.
Projects included replacing shingles and roadway planking as well as repairing the roof.
The bridge is located between the Bavarian Inn Restaurant and Bavarian Inn Lodge. It opened in January 1980.
