WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (AP) - A long-awaited Lego-themed hotel in central Florida has opened, and aficionados of the brightly colored brick toys can now rejoice.
The Legoland Florida Resort opened Friday.
The 152-room hotel includes more than 2,000 models created out of about 2 million Lego bricks. Each room or suite has a theme: adventure, kingdom, pirates and Lego Friends.
Lego Friends is a line of Lego toys primarily designed to appeal to girls.
The Lakeland Ledger reports that the resort is the first in the world to feature the Lego Friends suite.
It’s on the same property as the Legoland Florida theme park. There’s only one other Legoland hotel in the U.S., and that’s in Carlsbad, California.
