NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a man has been shot and wounded in Manhattan’s East Village.

Police are looking for suspects after the shooting shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday on Avenue C. Police were called to East Fifth Street, while the Fire Department has the address as East Eighth Street.

Police say the man was shot once. He’s been taken to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to survive.

The area is on the eastern edge of the East Village, about 10 blocks from the Williamsburg Bridge.
