EAST STROUDSBUIRG, Pa. (AP) - State police say troopers shot and injured a man after officers responded twice to a domestic disturbance call at an eastern Pennsylvania home.

Police in Monroe County say troopers were first called to the Smithfield Township home around 1:30 a.m. Saturday but left after advising relatives to seek a mental evaluation of a 20-year-old man.

Troopers returned just after 4 a.m. Saturday after a report that he was armed and threatening relatives. Police say he was seen walking around inside with a long gun, yelling at troopers to come and get him, and they fired after he emerged and pointed the weapon at them.

Police say he was taken to Lehigh Medical Center with upper torso injuries and will face charges.

There was no word on his condition.
