DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two suspects broke into a disabled South Florida woman’s home, spray painted her body and killed her two kittens.

The robbers allegedly entered through a sliding-glass door Thursday, holding the 60-year-old victim’s two dead kittens in an attempt to scare her into turning over credits cards and jewelry.

The victim, whom authorities say is disabled and has difficulty walking, told the men she didn’t have much of value. That’s when Broward Sheriff’s deputies said the robbers became violent and threw her to the ground, cutting her hands and face with shards of glass. She was treated at the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The suspects left with a small gray safe containing the victim’s medication and the two dead kittens in a paper bag.

The Sun-Sentinel (https://tinyurl.com/ovyerwd) reports a third accomplice waited outside during the attack.
