WANTAGE, N.J. (AP) - State police say a veteran skydiver who was injured during a hard landing in northern New Jersey has died.
Thirty-eight-year-old Paul Hayes was initiating a high-speed turn to land at Sussex Airport in Wantage when something went wrong Thursday. He died Friday.
Sussex Skydive owner Curt Kellinger said at the time of the accident that Hayes’ parachute was fully functional.
