JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming game managers have moved a young grizzly bear that accidentally wound up in a live trap on private land west of Dubois.
The grizzly was not targeted for capture by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department but got caught in the trap as a result of “unsecured bear attractants” on private lands.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports (https://bit.ly/1JPYSV8) that the Game and Fish news release did not say what kinds of attractants were on the private land.
The subadult male bear was moved to occupied grizzly habitat within the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway in the northern reaches of Jackson Hole.
It was the second instance this year of a non-targeted grizzly being captured within or moved to Jackson Hole.
