RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 37-year-old man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for stabbing another man during a fight over bogus Nevada Wolf Pack football tickets last summer.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://on.rgj.com/1e9Yoz8 ) Simon Rios Jr. was sentenced Wednesday in Washoe County District Court as a habitual offender.

A man bought a ticket from Rios’ brother for the Aug. 30 Nevada game, and called him for a refund after being denied entrance because the ticket was fake.

Police say the man met Rios and his brother near campus and Rios immediately threatened to stab the man. The man was stabbed three times in the leg as he tried to flee.

Rios will be eligible for parole after 10 years in prison.
