FREDERICA, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police say a Pennsylvania man was injured after his car overturned several times on Delaware Route 1 near Frederica.

Police say the incident happened just before 7 a.m. Sunday. Investigators say the driver of a Mercedes veered off the roadway and into the center median, struck a sign and continued into the southbound lanes. That’s where it overturns several times before coming to a stop on the roof of the car.

Police say the 58-year-old driver from York, Pennsylvania, was properly restrained and was the only person in the vehicle. The man was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Police say the man may have experienced an acute medical condition that may have been a factor in the crash.
