HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Two men have been killed in what police say are unrelated shootings in Hartford.

Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley said each of the victims appeared to have been targeted.

Police said 27-year-old Rashad Collier of West Hartford was found shot at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday on George Street in the South End.

Police had first said the victim was a woman, but later corrected that. Collier was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. One witness interviewed by police tells the Hartford Courant he heard three shots, a pause and then a fourth shot.

Early Saturday morning, 28-year-old Michael Clahar of Hartford was found shot at 602 Mary Shepard Place. Police said they got a call just before 3 a.m. that a man was lying in the road. He had been shot in the head.
