SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - After seven years, the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra has brought back its free “Picnic Pops” concert.
Director Lois Robinson says lack of money canceled the concerts for seven years, but a few community members provided help to bring it back Saturday.
She tells The Times (https://bit.ly/1LbQuAi ) that “It’s a great opportunity to serve the whole community.”
Thunderstorms forced organizers to move the concert from Betty Virginia Park to Byrd High School’s auditorium. Robinson says people were still excited.
Picnic Pops was the Shreveport Symphony’s last show of the 2014-2015 season.
