DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - A coroner’s office has identified the 4-year-old boy who authorities say drowned in a pond at a southwestern Ohio apartment complex.

The Montgomery County coroner’s office says the boy pulled from the pond in Washington Township has been identified as Carter Kelb.

The county sheriff’s office says deputies were called to an apartment complex in the township Sunday evening on a report of a boy who had been found in a pond.

Emergency responders began CPR on the boy when they arrived. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The sheriff’s office is investigating his death.
