COLLINSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities are planning an autopsy for a 13-year-old north Alabama boy killed in what officials are describing as an accidental shooting involving a relative.

Sheriff’s officials in DeKalb County say a relative of the youth had the gun when it went off Sunday night.

The Collinsville teenager was taken to the DeKalb Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials haven’t released the victim’s name. But they say an autopsy is planned at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville.
