BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - Police have charged a 17-year-old in the fatal shooting of a man on a basketball court in Beaufort.
Local media outlets report the boy was arrested Sunday morning in the death of 20-year-old Matthew Horne. Police say Horne was shot and killed April 30.
Police say the suspect in the shooting had also been arrested May 4 and charged with interfering with a police officer. They said he also pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods valued at $10,000 or more last year in separate cases.
The teen is being held at Beaufort County Detention Center and is charged with murder. It is unclear if he has a lawyer.
