LOS ANGELES (AP) - Homicide detectives are investigating after the body of a man was found burning on a South Los Angeles sidewalk.

Police Officer Drake Madison says the fire was reported about 3:30 a.m. Monday near a small park in a residential neighborhood.

KABC-TV reports arson investigators will try to determine whether an accelerant was used.

Coroner’s officials will try to identify the body and determine the exact cause of death.
