WAWARSING, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 44-year-old Connecticut man has died in a hang glider accident in New York’s Catskill Mountains.

State police say Scott Trueblood of Shelton was hang gliding around 6 p.m. Sunday near the state Route 52 overlook in the Ulster County town of Wawarsing when he hit the side of a mountain.

Troopers say Trueblood was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Trueblood was a newly license pilot with the Ellenville Flight School located near where the accident occurred.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
