ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) - Another lounge for military travelers is being established at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Ken Pratt, president of nonprofit Michigan Armed Forces Hospitality Center Inc., says a $100,000 grant from the Masco Foundation will allow officials to open the Freedom Center lounge at the airport’s North Terminal.

Since its 2011 opening at the airport’s McNamara Terminal, the existing lounge has hosted more than 140,000 military members, their family members and veterans.

The airport is located in Romulus. Freedom Center lounges get support from the Wayne County Airport Authority, Meritor, Delta Air Lines and others. Other Freedom Center lounges for the benefit of recruits and their families have been established in Troy and Lansing.
