ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Water is up to two feet deep across a closed potion of Dalton Highway near where flooding a little more than a month ago prompted Gov. Bill Walker to issue a disaster declaration.
KTUU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1cLm9MW) the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities issued a news release saying the flooding has washed out parts of the road that connects the North Slope to the Interior, closing it between miles 375 and 412.
Officials say the closure should last four days.
March’s closure blocked truckers in the North Slope, severely limiting supplies and causing fuel to be rationed.
