MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Police say a 26-year-old man has drowned in the Piscataquog River in Manchester.

The man, identified as Heritier Bosa of Manchester, was found 15 to 20 feet from shore on Sunday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at Catholic Medical Center.

Police said a witness, 20-year-old Felicia LeBrun, said she had given Hertier, his wife, and their 3-year-old daughter a ride to the area. Bosa went swimming. At one point, she noticed him struggling, thought he was “fooling around” and waited a few minutes before checking the water.

After several more minutes, she contacted emergency services. Firefighters and state Fish and Game Department rescuers arrived. Bosa’s body was found an hour later.

Bosa’s wife, who is eight months pregnant, was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
