WINDSOR, Colo. (AP) - Police are investigating after a man was shot to death while he was bicycling on a rural county road in Windsor.
Lt. Richard Higuera says 48-year-old John Jacoby was cycling northwest of Windsor Lake when he was shot Monday morning. A passing motorist found his body.
Higuera says first responders initially thought Jacoby was the victim of a hit-and-run crash, but they soon discovered he had been shot twice.
Police did not say if Jacoby, a part-time park caretaker with the town of Windsor, was shot from a vehicle. Investigators are asking for the public’s help finding a suspect.
Higuera wouldn’t rule out any possibilities, including whether the shooting is related to a case in which a woman was shot in the neck as she was driving on Interstate 25 near Windsor.
