LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska will open the 2017 football season against Arkansas State in Lincoln.

The Nebraska athletic department announced Monday that the Red Wolves would visit Memorial Stadium on Sept. 2. The game will be the third between the schools. Nebraska won 38-9 in 2009 and 42-13 in 2012.

The addition of Arkansas State completes Nebraska’s 2017 schedule. The Cornhuskers’ non-conference schedule also includes a game at Oregon and a matchup with Northern Illinois in Lincoln.

Arkansas State has won three Sun Belt Conference titles in the past four seasons. In addition to its 2017 trip to Lincoln, Arkansas State has future nonconference games scheduled against Southern California, Missouri, Auburn and Miami.

The agreement with Arkansas State completes Nebraska’s schedules through the 2019 season.
