DURANGO, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say engine failure forced a pilot to land his plane on a county road in southwestern Colorado.
Dan Bender, a spokesman for the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, tells The Durango Herald (https://goo.gl/NST1nR ) that pilot Daudi Barnes landed his single-engine Cessna 150 about 4 miles northwest of the city shortly after taking off from Animas Airpark on Sunday afternoon. No one was injured.
Bender says a utility line along the road was damaged, and the road was closed while crews cleared the wreckage.
