SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police in Savannah are investigating a deadly hit-and-run collision.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan police say they’re searching for two cars they say left the scene of the crash that killed 62-year-old Ronald Roundtree.

Police say Roundtree died at Memorial University Medical Center where he was taken after the crash late Saturday night at East 37th and Paulsen streets.

Police say Roundtree was crossing 37th Street when he was struck by a car that left the scene heading east. They say a second car traveling west also struck the victim as he lay in the roadway.

Authorities say a third vehicle stopped to assist.

Police are searching for a black or dark gray 1993 Honda Civic that may have struck the victim first. The car may be missing a side mirror.
