MAYODAN, N.C. (AP) - Investigators in Mayodan are looking for the person who spelled out a racial slur on a sign at the Madison-Mayodan Recreation Department.
The News & Record of Greensboro reports (https://bit.ly/1JtzlDa) Mayodan Police Chief Charles Caruso said someone rearranged the marquee’s letters to spell out a racial slur, and then the word “America.” Police received a complaint about the sign around 10 a.m. Sunday.
When an officer arrived, someone already pulled the letters off the sign to prevent others from seeing it.
Caruso said there will be a full investigation into the incident.
