HURON, S.D. (AP) - Kids and teachers looking for a fun way to kick off the 2015-2016 school year can stop by a giant classroom at the South Dakota State Fair.

The South Dakota Department of Agriculture says students and educators from all over South Dakota can gather in September at the state’s largest classroom.

Registration is open. More than 900 students and teachers attended the event last year.

Activities and attractions include an exotic animal petting zoo, an animal nursery, a one-room schoolhouse and exhibits, among others.

The program is free for chaperones, students and teachers.
