BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP) - The farmers market at the Walker Tavern Historic Site at Cambridge Junction Historic State Park is scheduled to open for the season this weekend.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says the market will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at the site near the Jackson County community of Brooklyn in southern Michigan.

Opening weekend features tours of the recently renovated Hewitt House Visitors Center. Friends of Walker Tavern volunteers and DNR staff will be on hand to answer questions about the exhibit “Summertime in Michigan’s Irish Hills” that starts Saturday.

The DNR says the market will continue every week into the fall, but will be closed two Sundays for race weekends at nearby Michigan International Speedway on June 14 and Aug. 16.
