WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Her family says an 83-year-old woman injured in a May 6 fire that killed her 96-year-old sister has died.

The Telegram & Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1EYulRB) that the family of Eleanor Rinaldo announced in an obituary that she died Friday at UMass Memorial Medical Center where she was taken after fire destroyed the home she shared with her sister and son.

Rose Jordan was killed in the early morning fire. John Rinaldo escaped without serious injury.

The family’s statement thanked the hospital and emergency responders for “the outstanding care, compassion and lifesaving efforts they took to help Eleanor.”

Friends of John Rinaldo, who say he lost everything in the fire, have been raising money for him on the website GoFundMe.

The cause of the fire that destroyed the Uxbridge Street house is still being determined.
