DALLAS (AP) - Two candidates who lost in the Dallas City Council race for District 8 have filed an election challenge, saying the results were rigged.
The Dallas Morning News (https://bit.ly/1HoLx5U ) reports Subrina Brenham and Eric Williams filed the election challenge in Dallas County district court late last week. Brenham and Williams received 8 percent and 5 percent of the vote, respectively, in the election earlier this month.
The challenge asks for access to election records, expedited hearings on the claims and a new election. It also lists one location where the two candidates do not believe their names appeared on the ballot.
The city of Dallas and the county elections office are named in the challenge, as are the two candidates who made it to a June runoff for the seat.
