MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - A new national ranking has identified Vermont’s Castleton, Johnson and Lyndon state colleges as among the 100 most affordable four-year colleges in the United States.
Best Value Schools’ list of Most Affordable Small Colleges focuses on traditional four-year colleges enrolling under 4,000 undergraduate students and excludes community colleges, graduate schools and specialized schools.
State colleges Chancellor Jeb Spaulding says he hopes the rankings help Vermonters realize what a good deal the state’s three, four-year colleges are.
The state college system also includes Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center and the multi-campus Community College of Vermont.
