FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The center for the Razorbacks football team has been placed on a spring watch list for the top players at the position.

The university announced Tuesday that senior Mitch Smothers is one of 52 centers selected to the 2015 Spring Watch List for the Rimington Trophy.

Smothers is the sixth Arkansas football player to be named to the trophy’s watch list and is the first three-time honoree since Travis Swanson in 2013. The last Razorback to win the award was Jonathan Luigs in 2007.

The Springdale native started all 13 games at center in 2014 and helped block for a pair of 1,000-plus yard rushers. He finished the season with a 72 percent offensive line grade and was only penalized twice.
