HENRIETTA, N.Y. (AP) - Traffic is moving again on the Thruway outside Rochester after a crash involving two tractor-trailers shut down the eastbound lanes for nearly 12 hours.

State police say the trucks collided around 5:30 p.m. Monday on Interstate 90 in the town of Henrietta between exits 46 and 45. Troopers say it appears one of the trucks rear-ended the other, but investigators are stilling looking into the cause of the accident.

One of the trucks was hauling a corrosive substance that Monroe County’s hazardous materials team has off-loaded from the trailer.

Eastbound traffic was detoured off the Thruway at Exit 46 until around 5 a.m. Tuesday, when the left lane reopened. The right lane reopened around 9:30 a.m.

One of the truck drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a Rochester hospital.
