GADSDEN, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an inmate who escaped from the Etowah County Detention Center is back in custody.
Spokeswoman for the county sheriff’s office Natalie Barton tells the Gadsden Times (https://bit.ly/1AdQM8O ) 31-year-old Roger Helm was taken into custody Sunday night about an hour after he escaped from the jail’s kitchen.
Barton says Helm was serving a 90-day sentence and had 30 days left. Barton says Helm was found walking and was taken into custody by a Gadsden police officer. Authorities say Helm will now face another charge for escaping.
