BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Mandan man set to be a witness for the prosecution in a human trafficking case has been charged for operating as a pimp in the Bismarck-Mandan area.

The Bismarck Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1GkvwPG ) that Abdul Fazl Vann is charged in Burleigh County with human trafficking, a felony offense that carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

A Bismarck police affidavit states that Vann provided the sexual services of an 18-year-old woman to an unnamed client. The client allegedly paid Vann $400 for the services and none of the money was paid to the woman.

Vann is listed as one of the state’s witnesses intended to be called in another human trafficking case involving Las Vegas man. That trial is scheduled to start on Sept. 1.
