BETHESDA, Md. (AP) - Metro is warning of delays on the red line after service was temporarily suspended in Bethesda.

Metro suspended service for a short time between the Medical Center and Friendship Heights stations on Tuesday morning while firefighter investigated a report of a track fire in the area. Montgomery County fire officials say firefighters found no hazards and haze and smoke was gone in the Bethesda station.

Metro has restored service on one track through the area, but only inbound trains will stop at the Bethesda station. Metro is running shuttle buses between the affected stations.
