STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Oktibbeha County supervisors have named a new director for the local Emergency Management Agency.
WCBI-TV in Columbus reports (https://bit.ly/1QZZV8Y ) Shank Phelps is expected to take over the agency July 1. Phelps was hired Monday.
Supervisor Orlando Trainer says Phelps is a lieutenant and 23 year veteran of the Oktibbeha County sheriff’s department.
County leaders interviewed three internal candidates for the position.
Longtime EMA Director Jim Britt’s last day is June 30.
