PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A 24-year-old Philadelphia man has been arrested in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman in the Kensington section of the city.

Police say Manuel Cintron was arrested Monday.

Authorities say Cintron approached the woman, pointed a gun at her and forced her into a minivan at about 5:30 a.m. on May 1. Police say he then drove a short distance and sexually assaulted the 22-year-old.

Police say an hour prior to the assault Cintron tried to force another woman into a parked car at gunpoint. She was able to get away.

It’s unclear if Cintron has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
