SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Authorities say an inmate who had walked away from a South Dakota prison has been captured after leading police on separate chases in three states.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Terry Anderson says 36-year-old David Holloway was taken into custody Monday night south of Sioux Falls. He tells the Argus Leader (https://argusne.ws/1L4OskF ) that Holloway was not armed and there was no standoff.

Authorities say Holloway was driving a pickup reported as stolen in Nebraska. KDLT-TV (https://bit.ly/1B9n53B ) reports authorities there chased him but he escaped.

Sioux Falls police say Holloway was spotted in Iowa and authorities pursued him as he drove into South Dakota.

The South Dakota Department of Corrections had reported Holloway as missing May 10. The department says he’s serving sentences for grand theft and eluding a police officer.
