RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - The Wind River Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest has decided to bar tent camping in the area of Brooks Lake and Pinnacles campgrounds, as well as the corresponding overflow areas and dispersed sites, because of increased bear activity over the last few years.

The Riverton Ranger reports (https://goo.gl/QEZ7TH ) hard-sided units such as trailers, campers and motorhomes will still be allowed.

The new order, coupled with the removal of numerous hazardous trees in the camping areas surrounding Brooks Lake, is the latest effort to improve visitor safety and overall experience on the Shoshone National Forest.
