HOUSTON (AP) - A robbery suspect who shot himself while being chased by Houston police has died a day after the stolen vehicle he was driving hit and killed an officer.

Houston police say 33-year-old Jeffrey Conlin died Tuesday at a hospital.

Officer Richard Martin died early Monday after being struck by a minivan while trying to put down spike strips to stop the vehicle. Police say Conlin was driving, rammed Martin and then sped away.
