HOUSTON (AP) - A robbery suspect who shot himself while being chased by Houston police has died a day after the stolen vehicle he was driving hit and killed an officer.
Houston police say 33-year-old Jeffrey Conlin died Tuesday at a hospital.
Officer Richard Martin died early Monday after being struck by a minivan while trying to put down spike strips to stop the vehicle. Police say Conlin was driving, rammed Martin and then sped away.
The chase ended when Conlin shot himself in the head.
Funeral arrangements are pending for the slain officer.
