WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Police have cited a tractor-trailer driver they say was behind the wheel of a rig that pinned and killed a woman in Worcester.

Police announced that Gary Shray, of Oriental, North Carolina, has also been cited for negligent operation and failure to use care in turning in connection with the death Thursday of 24-year-old Sarah Ewing of Hudson. Shray will be summoned to court.

He drives for Ocean Star Transportation of East Hartford, Connecticut.

The company refused comment. A number for Shray could not be located.

Police say after Shray pulled over to let a fire truck pass, he turned too sharply toward a highway ramp, knocked over a lightpost, forcing Ewing and a friend into his truck’s path. Ewing was trapped under the vehicle’s rear wheels for about 30 minutes.
