INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (AP) - A man who earned the admiration of Indiana law enforcement for his perceived dapper dress has been arrested for theft.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Katie Carlson says 26-year-old Shane Baker was arrested Tuesday in Bloomington on four felony theft warrants.

Carlson says in a statement that information turned up by investigators suggested that Baker may be in Bloomington. Carlson said despite changes to his appearance, Indiana State Troopers identified and arrested him.

Authorities say Baker was known to don a suit and steal wallets, credit cards and identifications from victims in office buildings and churches.

In addition to thefts in Marion County, sheriff’s officials said Baker also had a theft warrant in Morgan County and an Indiana Department of Correction Parole violation.
