HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Hartford police say they recorded 17 shots fired in attack that took the life of a 17-year-old.

Deputy Chief Brian Foley says officers responded to Irving Street in the city’s North End at about 9 p.m. Tuesday after the Shot-Spotter system alerted them to the gunfire.

Police say they found the 17-year-old in a white sedan with a gunshot wound to the head.

He died Wednesday morning at Saint Francis Hospital.

His name was not released.

Police say they don’t know what led to the shooting and had made no arrests Wednesday morning.
