BENTON, Ark. (AP) - Three Benton residents have been arrested on suspicion of fraud-related charges after an investigation of an annual baseball and softball tournament.

Local media outlets report the Benton Police Department and the IRS began a six-month investigation of organizers of the Wally Hall Tournament of Champions after irregularities were found in their tax reporting. They were arrested Monday.

Authorities say Kendall Shane Pigue and Lara Pigue, who are married, were charged with multiple counts of false or fraudulent report, failure to pay or file tax returns, criminal conspiracy and computer fraud.

Kimberly McClendon was charged with several counts of false or fraudulent report, criminal conspiracy and computer fraud.

Lt. Kevin Russell says all three were released on their recognizance and may face more charges. It is not immediately clear if they have attorneys.
