ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - Three more men have been convicted of orchestrating the 2008 kidnapping and murder of a northern New Jersey woman.

Twenty-six-year-old Sharif Torres, 31-year-old Robert Harris, and 36-year-old Jamel Lewis were convicted on Wednesday after a jury deliberated over six days. Torres and Harris are from Philadelphia and Lewis is from Newark.

A 38-year-old Newark man was sentenced to life in prison last year in the 2008 death of 35-year-old Tanya Worthy, of Green Brook.

Prosecutors say Rashawn Bond invited Worthy to his home, where she was accosted by the other men. Prosecutors say two of them drove Worthy to her home, believing large quantities of cash were stashed there, but they soon fled after Worthy’s boyfriend foiled the robbery.

Worthy was fatally shot inside her car, which was driven to Elizabeth and set on fire with Worthy’s body inside.
