PHOENIX (AP) - A suspect is accused of tipping over a disabled man in a motorized wheelchair, causing him to fall and hit his head on a busy Phoenix roadway.

Authorities say 41-year-old Charles Cooks was arrested Monday on suspicion of vulnerable-adult abuse, robbery and aggravated assault.

Cooks’ bond was set at $15,000 at his initial court appearance Tuesday. He doesn’t have a lawyer yet.

Phoenix police say at least three witnesses were able to identify Cooks as the suspect who injured and robbed the incapacitated man, whose name wasn’t released.

They say the victim has advanced muscular dystrophy.

He suffered head trauma, bumps, abrasions and lacerations from the fall.

Police say Cooks allegedly ran off and left the incapacitated man in the street.
